I think there are a lot of better songs than this, but that's probably because I like death more than thrash.

Also one of my favourite albums.



I think Creeping Death may be slightly overrated. Although it has grown on me in recent years.



I think my favourite Metallica album may be in the process of changing from "Lightning" To "Puppets". Maybe. Although I don't exactly agonise over this. All of the first four well and truly over 9000.



We should do a Desert Island Discs thread!!

Escape is the only bad song on this album. Was it an attempt at radio friendliness or a NWOBHM anachronism? I would think the former.

"Trapped Under Ice" is also sub-par.



Anyone else not really dig "The Thing That Should Not Be" off Puppets?

Not a huge fan of the vocals on that song. The pacing kind of gets on my nerves. I would love a super-heavy instrumental only version, though. We need a doom band to do a cover of it.
