When I was a kid, and the only metal I heard was on the radio, I wanted to be Pete Steele. I said "I'm gonna grow up and have a fucking voice like that." Because he's just that cool. Kinda faggy too, but...you get it.

type o negative and peters vocals/lyrics i have been a fan of for years. alot of ToN songs mean alot to me, it saddens me to know he has died, but i will always love those classic albums they've given us and keep his spirit alive

thanks for this thread, I for one will really miss him and his music.

I still cherish all the albums I own from Type O, especially my signed October Rust Double LP.

World Coming Down has also been helpful to me during some heavy periods.

I hope Peter is in a better place and that his family and the rest of the band are going to be ok.

type o negative were one of the first real "dark" metal bands that I got into in the 90's. became a fan around the time October Rust came out and loved it. immediatly bought Bloody Kisses and loved that too. at the time it was unlike anything I had heard before. by the time World Coming Down came out I had over played OR and BK so much that I had to buy the albums again because the discs wouldn't play anymore. that said, ToN are still one of my favorite bands and i'm glad I got to see them live at least a couple of times. the last time was at a club without about 1200 people in attendance when they toured with Celtic Frost. the entire band sans Peter went to a local watering hole after the show and I got to meet them. would have loved to meet Peter but he was already drunk after drinking an entire bottle of redwine on stage only hours earlier, that was the excuse Kenny gave for him not being there. :redneck: growing up ToN meant a lot to me, I connected with a lot of the lyrics and the music was just overall good, even my parents liked them.

I got into Type O Negative when Slow deep and had came out. It really reflects my feelings towards the divorce of my parents at that time.

Lateron, his humor and fatalistic look on life realy appealled to me. Quite a personality.

Bloody kisses I also like, from the other albums most songs, but I own every album and Dead again with the DVD from Wacken. Also the other DVD's.

A unique band and I can't imagine the rest of the members to carry on TON without him.

I hopped in on Bloody Kisses at the recommendation of a random meeting with a sexy leopard elevator in a park on devil's night. She was smoking cloves and had dyed-black hair, ironically.
