it's not just metal. it's a phenomenon that's been happening for decades. metal, rock, and even punk band avoid touring the south for some reason. I don't really get it because places like Atlanta/Athens, Tampa/lummo's cowtown, Miami/Ft Lauderdale, Jacksonville/St Augustine, North/South Carolina, Tennessee, etc are huge markets and when bands actually do play down here they almost always get a good turn out. it's not just the small bands either. a lot of big, arena sized tours skip it too. couldn't tell you why, just that it's nothing new.

well, on the upside, spartanburg has styx and an evening with kirk cameron both coming up in the next two weeks!



i actually might go to the kirk cameron thing if i can rope someone else into going along, its free and has the potential to be a seriously hilarious time
