At this point we've all listened to music so much that certain lyrical themes are no doubt trite and worn, whilst other potential gold mines are untapped. What do you hate? What would you like?
Boring
Satan/anti-Christianity
Vikings
Gore
Do want
Warhammer/Warhammer 40K. If I could convince my fellating lover to write some music for such, I would write bitchin' lyrical invocations to Slaanesh, Nurgle, Khorne and others. More blood for the blood god, more skulls for the skull throne.

then get some Bolt Thrower (and i'm pretty sure Dismember has some of those, too)

Oh yeah, I forgot Bolt Thrower did some Warhammer stuff. We still need more. The whole of the canon is very metal indeed.

I've always preferred personal and politicial/social issues as a source of lyrics. The music is usually more honest and passionate that way.

Yeah, death had some fucking killer personal lyrics. I love how chuck expressedhis disgust at shitty people as monumental battles.
You can really empathise with a lot of Chucks words.
And ironically, most of the shit lyrics out there are the angsty personal ones.

I do not find any themes boring or old. I do, however, find particular implementations to be either inspirational or unworthy.

Yes, but... Ageless Still I Am != Death.
