About the Tim Yeung thing

Post by Bathsalt Zombie »

I saw that topic and thought that this is total fucking bullshit, and that hard-on bearer was trying to troll. Well tonight changed everything.

I was at the brass mug tonight and a good fellating lover and co-worker of Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez told me straight up out of the blue that Tim Yeung is the new drummer of Morbid Angel. Something about Pete having back problems.

Now, you can believe these word or not, a whole lot of you have known me for over 4 years now and you know that I don't spam bullshit, but I know what I heard and now I actually believe that hard-on bearer who made that original topic.

Maybe it is true and maybe it is not. I won't bother with belief until official affirmation. If it is true, I will be :tear:

Regarding the previous topics on this issue. To me, the thing which annoyed me the most was the tone of voice: I know things but i'm not telling....

Everybody who takes a look at Pete can see he doesn't look that healthy.. (understatement)

The hard-on bearer was a creator of a style which has been adopted by a new generation of drummers who have build on it and improved it. I'm sure there are plenty of drummers out there who are able to step up to the MA plate.

I wouldn't worry to much about a change of drumtone/sound etc. It's all tiggered to death :redneck: and Trey is still the mastermind behind all music.

I just hope Pete is taken care off financially en health insurance wise. and not dumped like an nasty old girlfriend...

The hard-on bearer deserves all the respect he can get for the milestones he's created.

If it is true I'll be very upset, Pete is a big part of Morbid Angel to me, even if Trey writes all of the music.

I hope Pete does well though, if he is physically unable to drum I understand but it's still very sad for me. Tim will probably do well but he won't be a part of MA to me.

For a drummer studio work is very demanding physically (sp?). Severe back pain will hinder a good performance..

Thinking of this Sandoval/Yueng issue... Maybe the album reordings were delayed in the hope Pete would recover from his back problems?

That's the first thing I've heard that would be reasonable for the delay. That does sound like a real reason for the delay.

If there's a drummer to replace Sandoval - Yeung is the man to do it.

If Tim Yeung is going to replace Pete Sandoval on drums, why did he not replace earlier, during the tour before heading to the studio, for example?

The back problems of Pete can be a very good reason for the delay of the new album. But a Morbid Angel album without Pete on the drums will be very weird. Tim has to be very creative and put is drums in the Morbid Angel atmosphere.

There should be an official statement about all this rumours, to see if it's true or not.

Guys, I guess Pete's been saying it all along on his myspace intro text. He just likes talking in riddles, but I guess it's pretty obvious. I quote his words: "Now with the aid of your new walking stick You hobble along through society thick And look mesmerized by the face of it all You keep to the gutter in case you fall I can't go on I can't go on I can't go on I can't go on I, I, I, I..."

Now, don't you think "I" is referring to the next MA record? We better start believing the rumors, guys :homework: ...

That is a very thoughtful response. If Tim IS the new drummer, then we all owe the original poster an apology. But his childish attitude made it hard to take him seriously.

I imagine the band will take care of him--it's the only right thing to do. This isn't the first time I've heard of Pete's back trouble. If anyone has ever wrenched their back or pinched a nerve, then they know how debilitating back pain and injuries can be. All those years of intense drumming have undoubtedly taken their toll. Let's hope he's able to get the help he needs and can return to the throne (literally and figuratively!).

A stool is quite possibly the worst form of lumbar support imaginable, so yeah. If he has chronic back problems, it's going to take surgery, rehab and rest to fix it. He may never be 100% again. He'll also need to find a way to sit for long periods and play.

Skepticism requires no apology. It is the original and second (hell, everyone until Aaron) posters' own fault for not being taken seriously.

Well, if you remember a while back, myself and several others here were noticing screwed-up double-bass work on some of the live videos of MA from the last year or three; we didn't know if it was messed-up triggering, just an off night, or what...but I will admit even then I was worried, especially once I read about Pete's back problems.

If Pete can't do it any more? That would of course be a sad situation, but if he genuinely can't make the grade right now then a new drummer is the only sensible solution. Tim Yeung is obviously fantastic - just listen to the opening of 'Dogma Condemned' from that first Hate Eternal album with an open mind and tell me that hard-on bearer wouldn't be a great drummer for MA.

Much like Demonaz did with Immortal after he couldn't play any more, I hope even if he doesn't play for them any more that Pete stays around and remains a part of the MA extended family. That said, the best-case scenario would of course be Pete getting rehabbed back to 100% and reclaiming the MA drum throne once he's truly ready.

On the last few albums Trey made lots of drum beats on his computer anyway, Pete's creativity started to decline somewhere after FFF imo (maybe not his creativity itself, but rather his creative contribution to the band). It's a sad thing indeed to not have him in the drummer seat, but if he has severe back problems than that's it. Christ, he's 47 years old, I am sorry to say this, but anyone could see this coming, especially if you was on MA post David's comeback shows (I have seen them twice, and both times Pete was under the influence; heavily). So add that to demanding drumming and to his age, and it's clear. That's why I didn't flame this poster which originally shared this info because it was realistic, although he said it with retarded attitude.

This is one of those reason due to which I am not fired up for the new MA album anymore. I will sure hear it, visit a MA show on the new album tour, but excitement is gone already. Business wise, I think the best moment for the new album was right after the David's comeback tour. Nowadays, I feel that lot of old fans are not that enthusiastic about band's new outputs anymore. :alien:

Of course, I can't reveal the source right now. Isn't official. But please read my first 2 posts about the subject.

1st "I Know by a secure source that Tim Yeung from Divine Heresy will play on the upcomming Morbid Angel album.

If confirmed, what do you think of this?"

2nd "I think is true, but lets wait. The source is good. Maybe because back problem of Pete."

Pete Sandoval is NOT 47. I know that on his Wiki page is says he was born in 1963 but his myspace page says he's 41. He's no spring chicken but he's not that close to 50[/quote]

Even if he is 41, it's still the same thing. If he has a problem with his back (especially for the average people in his age, early forties as you say) chances are he is out of the seat.

Not to point out the obvious, but a lot can go wrong in that time, much less back in '05!
