Re: No Kings marches
i am pulling up to the state-sanctioned billionaire-approved protest
i am letting the whole world know that i am mad as hell and i am going to keep showing up every three months a little bit madder than the last time
and if these clowns in the white house don't cut it out, i might even write some swears on a sign and wave it around one of these times!!!

I went on Saturday in St Paul, MN - it was a huge fucking crowd. There were also hundreds of smaller protests in the suburbs and small towns all over the state, including in traditionally conservative towns which is certainly something.

Protesters yelling at clouds. Protesters told to disperse. Protesters ignore commands. Protesters get arrested. Eternal sad tears. Much pain. Very agonized.
These are facts. I laugh, hardest laugh.

[bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea single-handedly and irrevocably destroys the postwar global trade system and provokes an existential crisis]
"aaaahhhhmmmm, ackshually you guys, there's no kings! we're saving democracy! get out and vote!"
i am doing a tiktok dance to restore democracy as the chain of nuclear exchanges begins and all civilization is reduced to ash, the libs finally, terminally owned, humanity's last gasp is a tweet by cat turd sent on x the everything app about how epic it is, and it vanishes forever a few hours later once the network goes down forever

Re: No Kings marches
We had so many cool opportunities to go out in a global nuclear hellfire during the cold war. A true battle of ideological titans worthy of many cinema thrillers and spy novels.
Now we have to die a slow boring death from a decaying capitalism and hope that another decaying fascist theocracy puts us out of our misery first, but they probably don't even have the stockpile to do it.
Doomsday scenarios were much cooler back in the day.

it just got a new restoration, criterion released it in the US about a month ago, that is the version to track down if possible. originally financed by PBS/NEA iirc, and littman's one and only narrative feature, which is an enormous shame considering how good this one is

Re: No Kings marches
Testament was one of those videos that some churches would project onto the congregation back in the 80's. Ive seen it, plus dozens of others, and dont plan on watching it again. Mainly, because I consider it fearmongering.

yeah if i have one criticism it's that the film really should've focused more on the positive aspects of nuclear holocaust, societal fall down in a giant display of homosexuality, and radiation poisoning
