Doom 2016 was alright, with the weapon mods and all. The ones that followed with the melee weapons and the trying-to-be-Elder Scrolls feel were meh.

i just finished doom 2016 the other day and loved it, gonna grab doom eternal when it goes on sale. heard the dark ages one was meh but it has good reviews on steam

i played doom 2016 and absolutely loved it. tried doom eternal but got bored of it after a while and never finished it.

i played a lot of the original 1st gen FPS games (pre-mouse look) but never felt the urge to go back to them

Doom 2016 is another example of something that's off to a good start and eventually went to shit when the creators got into the 'trying something new and different' mindset.

I really like all three newer ones. I havent played a lot of Dark Ages but what little I did was fun. I sunk a lot of time into Eternal and enjoyed it.

oh, on the original topic, v22 beta 4 runs on GZDoom 4.11.3. Any earlier crashes.

Its doom 2 but with like, eternal levels of gore and a bunch of new weapons and a funny ass taunt, it kinda modernizes doom 2 in a sense, i still prefer the original but play b.rutal doom from time to time

i don't know how anyone can handle the old FPS without mouselook these days

i mean i played the shit out of them but not since ya know ... 1996

I still do playthroughs of Doom 1, 2 and Final Doom from time to time. It's nice to just play a shooter where all you have to think about is to shoot at anything that moves instead of taking into account storylines, different 'innovative' game features, etc.
