Late to the Party: Life of Agony - River Runs Red (1993)

Post by Corpsepyre »

So, I've been hooked to Life of Agony these past few weeks, particularly their debut 'River Runs Red'. It's fantastic. Bleak, hard-hitting, gritty, and with a lot of memorable hooks, it's just a great record as a whole. The lyrics, and the story being presented as short interludes present quite a grim and vivid portrait of an abused teen who eventually ends up going the extra mile in the last track. Also, I know the singer came out as a fucking asshole recently, and he never sounded as good later, but here he sure as shit gets the job done and then some.

I've tried listening their later albums, and even though there are some decent songs here and there, none of them hold a candle to this one.

Here are some of my favourite tracks. :santa:

I like all life of agony, but yeah river runs red is the best. Check out the 1989-1999 compilation too for some more old school goodies
