there's a certain common characteristic to the kind of person who would get fooled by gabbard, and i think it's just that they're all either fellow members of the omidyar network, or fans of their work. iirc, she's always been in that orbit, and her main boosters like glennwald and taibbi were (and probably still are, substack is very useful for obfuscating that sort of thing) rather famously on his payroll
