Re: Crimson (Remastered)
yeah hes been doing separate remix and remaster releases for most of the EoS catalog over the last couple years. purgatory, spectral and nothing but death remains have all had the same treatment along with the demos
i have not preferred any of the tarted up versions to the originals and crimson was no exception (only listened to the remixed version though, which sounded far too clean to me)
dan needs to find a new hobby

Re: Crimson (Remastered)
those albums always seemed like they had pretty good production, was a remaster really necessary?

Re: Crimson (Remastered)
I was just stoked to re-discover this album. Hadn't listened to it in many years.
But yeah, most remasters/remixes are generally unnecessary. An exception being the first 3 Megadeth albums; the remaster actually helped those.

I find the remasters to be just fine, but these remixes to classic albums don't sit right. Filmmakers are changing their films as well now with the newer 4K UHD releases. Just let it be!
