Also, I have my own "system," and I'm interested in what you think about it and what the flaws are.
When I look at a painting, or listen to music, or watch a movie, the three aspects are:
TECHNIQUE: How much time does it take to master the technique or create the art piece?
AESTHETICS: Now this is subjective, but for me it's like the concept, the colors, the mood.
MEANING: Is there anything that it wants to tell, or teach, how much does it touches me emotionally?
These three can compensate for the overall value of what I see in painting/music/movie, whatever...
So a more simple painting with a very obvious and deep meaning is as good for me as a photorealistic portrait painting without anything to say.
But for me, most abstract art just doesn't work, because I can't believe it took 30 years to paint two squares on a blank canvas. It doesn't require a lot of effort; it doesn't pleases my eye, and whatever BS the artist
says, two square in itself can't have meaning.
What's your take on this?
As I said, this is a very subjective topic, so be nice to each other.
