Amusingly, everyone in this thread was wrong for different reasons
not only did Biden drop out, but the support behind Kamala Harris has been extremely positive. I certainly wasn’t expecting there to be so much unity, but here we are. Shows what we know.

Yes. You are right. Never underestimate the readiness of Dems to fuck themselves up.

so you need t.rump to win. not t.rump minus part of his earjawn galliano wrote: ↑20 Jul 2024, 00:09the wager is 20 euro, you took the 'bag of diarrhea inside another, bigger bag of diarrhea loses or declines to run' position. he has not declined to run, and he is the republican nominee, so the bet is still on. we were about 3mm away from having to invoke the force majeure clause last weekend though![]()

I saw a lot of people go from "ACAB" to "Kamala 24" overnight

i still think the 'unity' is very overblown and most of it is sufficiently-loud media operatives and slavish dem partisans simply transferring their party-mandated wishful thinking from biden to kkkamala

all cops are bastards
another election demonstrating once again how much of the hype around bernie's impact on the post-2016 political zeitgeist was totally unfounded. the liberal imagination was expanded about 1mm to the left for a few months, that evaporated the moment the next election season began, and the actual left remains nonexistent and permanently marginalized

I see Kamala has become a media darling. She's running a weak shitty campaign though and the media is still acting like it's effective.

Re: Is Biden going to drop out, yes or no?
she's already pledged to reverse the miniscule gains in antitrust enforcement (literally the only good thing biden has done) and i've seen some chatter that gina raimondo (a PE stooge who handed over RI's pension system to the 'alternative investment' gambling houses during her time as state treasurer) is in the running for the VP slot. so it comes as no surprise that she's a media darling. i haven't been back on this month, but i get the impression that there's a LOT of astroturfed enthusiasm happening on twitter, which in my view is intended to create the impression among actual users that popular enthusiasm is in line with elite opinion. which i really don't buy, but that's strictly intuition, haven't bothered looking at any polling yet and probably won't

yeah precisely. yet another democrat campaign where the candidate's popularity is imposed rather than earned, but hey, maybe it'll work this time! if at first you don't succeed etc
