I know that vocals is a MUST in metal, but I don't have experiance with vocals or lyrics writing.
And I dreamed this about a long time how cool it would be if there would be an instrumental DM band...well, I need it to do it myself.

it's good, i really like misshapen. on the next release i'd probably dial back some of the influence sound and think about vocals

i think vocals may have gotten the ep more attention but there's also a marketing aspect to it as well

And if I would stick to the instrumental format, what would make it more interesting?
More solos? More riffs, less repetition?
On my next release I plan to ad alot of ambient effects.

Yes, I know that the Morbid Angel influences are very strong, which is a big compliment for me.
These are my very first songs, so I guess as I write more, my "own style" will be more stronger.

i think instrumental metal is a pretty niche genre so i honestly wouldn't expect a ton of attention. but if you're going that way i personally think it needs a lot of variation. you don't want to venture too far into wank territory but you have to keep the listener engaged somehow right. you might also want to start learning to market harder, sending it lots of blogs, videos, etc.

do you listen to any instrumental metal? some of my favorite instrumental bands are pelican and dysrhythmia. mick gordon's music from doom is entirely instrumental and it goes hard.

your ep is great and having released it is a real achievement, even if you didn't get the attention or feedback you wanted. i would get to work on the next one and just focus on doing even better

Yes, I know instrumental DM is very nich. But since I was a kid, I dreamed about making this after listening to "From Skin to Liquid" from CC or "The Faceless One" from Hate Eternal.

Variation is important, but some repetition is a must for me, since that's one thing that I miss from newer bands.

Mick Gordon's Doom music is a good example of easily enjoyable instrumental music. Also, I hate slamming DM because of the vocals, but I like the instrumental version because it's ridiculously heavy.
So in short, I need to make the mix and the overall vibe more fruital, heavy, and atmospheric.
