that new album is pretty good
I need more listens but there are some beautiful and rocking songs on there.
Not sure if I like it more than the previous one, but it's different - which is good.
What do you think?

Well, being a super, ultramega fanboy, I fucking love it.
Doesn’t quite reach Sundownings heights but it’s awfully close.
My standout tracks:
Atlantic
Like That
Descending
High Water
Telomeres

Yeah I’m digging the new stuff more then the last record. Still nowhere near the 2 eps and sundowning.

Thoughts on the new song? Best of the 5 so far I think. Album comes out May 19th.

i finally listened to that summoning track a couple months ago and my main takeaway is that it was very funny but probably not intentionally so. its like some bizarre pastiche of nu-djent-core-imagine dragons-funk, wrapped up in the oOoOoOo they're ~anonymous~ wow it's a MYSTERY package which is probably deployed similarly to ghost to deny credit and income to individual contributors outside the band owner
truly i do not get it

ten years ago i'd agree but i've softened on meshuggah enough to avoid blaming them for everyone that copies that guitar sound, so i go for the more generic 'djent' label (which in my mind meshuggah are not, but every band trying to ape their sound is)

I dont think I’ve ever done such a turn on a band before. Absolutely loved them from 2019-2022 now I can’t stand them. Their fans since theyve blown up are some of the worst. Maybe the actual worst.

Same with ghost too, agreed. First 3 albums are great but the last two are trash. Ghost fans are nuts

Don't you have tattoos of both bands?

At least ghost has some good records whereas ST is completely unlistenable to me now. Ahh well.
