What year? My old 2003 Camry was somewhere around ~130k when it started giving me problems.
I'm at something like 86k on my current vehicle. The plan is to keep driving it until it either dies or doesn't make sense to put repairs into.

Good job lummo. You take care of your car.
Meanwhile, my 2019 Hyundai is just barely at 14,000 kms

Got it 4 months before the pandemic hit and the workplace set us all up for remote working. Now, we got a hybrid work schedule and it's still not enough to significantly add to that mileage.
I should probably do a road trip somewhere outside the city soon.

Re: My car just went over 100k miles….
two weeks of my upcoming trip in the UK-Ireland is all road trip, from london over to ireland via sussex, winchester, somerset, then wales, over the ferry to cork, galway, cliffs of moher, then back via dublin. i rented a "medium SUV" and let's see what they give us. last time i rented in the UK they gave me a brand spankin new Peugeot which was a blast from the past, my mum and i had an old one when i was like 6-7 years old, a Peugeot 504. that rental had the smoothest manual transmission i have ever used in my life, it was like, i can't even explain it. it felt like you weren't doing anything at all, you know. so smooth

Old Euro cars seem to have really good manual transmissions. We had a Mercedes W124 back when I was younger. It was a 260E with a 4-speed manual and that one had the best manual transmission I ever experienced.
My current Hyundai has a 6-speed manual transmission and so far, I'm really loving it. It's snappy and you can really feel the gate's hold once you get into gear.

i fucking hate the US auto market because manuals have gone almost entirely extinct in recent years (also true of sedans/couples generally, trucks and SUVs are 80-90% of what's on offer now). most manufacturers have ditched them entirely outside of a handful of pricey performance models, and the handful of inexpensive-ish models that do offer them only do so in extremely limited configurations

Re: My car just went over 100k miles….
One of my good friends has that exact same model of corolla as his daily ride. He bought it brand new in 2010 but it's the same E140 body like yours except he got the lowest trim - 1.6L engine, no backup sensors/camera, no leather seats, no auto climate control, standard stereo, knobs/buttons everywhere, and 6-speed stick shift tranny. But his is the most bulletproof corolla that I know - 130,000 kms and he does regular PMS at the original dealership. I've driven it a few times and I must say it still drives like almost it's brand new. The 6-speed manual shifts effortlessly even after all these years just as you would expect from those immortal Aisin transmissions.
I was trying to buy it off from him a few years ago but he didn't want to sell it.
