i played one of those at guitar center, it was alright but i didn't like.

can't really recommend a 7 string, still a 6 string hard-on bearer for now

I have a Jackson COW7, and its really cool. Made in Japan: quality. It only has one pickup though, but you can always route out the cavity for the neck pickup. Schecters are good too.

i dunno, i haven't played that model specifically, but i can't stand any of the schecters i've tried out. they all feel clunky, cheap and just generally poorly playable to me.

i have an rg7320, which is pretty much bottom of the line for 7's. would be respectable with a set of nice pickups though.

I would definitely encourage her to be a little more vigorous and to go deeper though.

Thomann from germany sold /sells those. But it is a regular production guitar. Any Jackson dealer should be able to order it.

It comes in Black, red pearl and in a desert camo version.

Also, jackson introduced a production model Archtop soloist model 7 string this year. In a couple of different finishes

There are plenty of US stores who sell the mentioned guitars online. But a lot of stores do not wat to sell to countries like Malasia im afraid. There are a lot of unhonest buisinesses operating from that country... hence they are not that keen on shipping there.

I am absolutely not implying you are!! But it sucks if you want to buy a guitar in an honest way and cannot because of this...

Thomann might be your safest bet if you like their prices. Also their customer service is pretty OK.

Maybe not related, but, I'll post it anyway.

I bought a 5-string bass from Thomann and it works fine and all, but the truss rod was too lose (or tightened?) so the fretboard had a really weird bending, it was bent inwards, so the first four frets had so much fret-buzz the tone didn't even come trough. I don't think they check their stuff properly before they ship them out. That was with their own brand (Harley Benton), I am not sure if they do a better check on better brands.

Yes they do. Harley Benton is their own cheap trademark. The instruments are usually decent after you have put few hours of work to set them up.

This product line is something that they probably don't check at all and just sell directly out of cargo container. Hence the very cheap price.

I see. And yes, I am happy with the bass I bought, even though it was cheap, it had a nice sound for that price. :thingy:

Not sure if the shipping is more expensive to ship to USA, since I live in Sweden, it is pretty close.

I'm not sure if you can find it cheaper. The red and desert camo version are more expensive over the regular black one...

I haven't been here in a while, sorry. I've got it for 700 euros, the black version. Actually, I have to thank Uni777 for starting a thread about getting a "rehearsal" guitar, which brought this particular model to my attention ;)

About this post regarding setup of a guitar coming straight from the seller - the very first thing you should always do when you buy an instrument is to setup it yourself, or have it setup'ed by a guitar tech. That's no brainer :santa:

What he said... The guitar has a fixed bridg so setting it up is a no-brainer. Adjusting the nut to thicher string gauges is a little more tricky but you can do that yourselve too.

@ Uros: Still have the stock EMG in there?.

Hey Uni. Yeah, still have it. Money is really tight these days :shakefist:

I did the 18v mod tho, it's cool. It's not that bad for a pickup, just not my cup of tea. I'm gonna switch it with Bareknuckle Nailbomb, and add the neck pickup (route the cavity and all), probably Q-tuner. Those 2 are really expensive comparing to other pickup brands (like Seymour Duncan or DiMarzio for example), and I won't change EMG just for the sake of it. :santa:
