Oppenheimer - worth the hype?

Post by Mesarthim »

Anyone see it yet? It’s been years since I’ve even set foot in a movie theater but might make an exception for this one. Not usually one to get on the hype train but this one has me intrigued…. :interessant:

I put the soundtrack on while I was doing shit around the house and found myself memorized by it. :santa:

And no, I don’t plan on seeing the Barbie movie. :shake:

Oppenheimer :xx: Fuck the hype and watch it. Historically interesting I think I learned something. But it also leaves some questions  Like how close were the nazis (not so close it seems ;) ) I feared it would be overly long and it is very long but I never drifted

my fellating lover who is very into the history of science and especially the early quantum & atomic stuff was pretty down on it. not for a lack of accuracy or anything but just not a very good film by her reckoning. wasn't particularly hyped for it before, doubt i'll bother with it in theaters

i think i am going to see barbie next week though :redneck:

This juxtaposition of Barbie and Oppenheimer I see everywhere reminds me of when Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing New Horizons released on the same day. The Doomslayer x Isabelle memes had me dying

i think it was worse than fine

i mean i don't know about all the source material, what they had to work with, how true to his life they made it. but they really managed to make it a drag

i would have liked to see a little more focus on some of the science and other scientists involved but i guess that's not very entertaining

Still haven't seen this. Come to think of it I'm not sure I've watched a new movie this year at all.

Yeah I never watch any new movies anymore unless they pop up to stream and I have a mild interest in them. Still catching up on movies that came out several years ago. :redneck:
