Blood In Blood Out: Fantastic movie

It is more than 3 hours long so I thought I would get bored in between but that didn't happen even once. I've already rewatched several scenes from it many times already on Youtube. It's a really thoughtful movie just like South Central.

I always like movies that depict society as it really is, poor and full of social problems, instead of the bourgeois upper class version of it. And each time I watch a movie like this, I feel a little guilty that I'm sitting at home comfortably, with nothing to worry about, whereas most people are out there struggling daily in cramped quarters. Because had it not been to pure chance and I wasn't born into a prosperous family to begin with, this is where I could have been.

Haven’t seen this movie but I recall having similar feelings after watching Cidade de Deus many years ago.

The actors in City of God are fashion models who have been given a different garb. That sums up that whole movie. This movie is authentic, more thoughtful and better.
