This is a genre I've always struggled with, some good stuff but also some that is a little too flashy or over the top for me I guess

it can certainly be hit or miss for sure. the straight up keyboard / synth stuff can be good when it's done tastefully but often times it comes off as a bit cheesy.

most bands that stick to the more orchestral side of things are excellent though.
