Bolt Thrower
Any fans of said band?
Are there any recordings from when Mr Van Drunen was in the band?

Re: Bolt Thrower
Realms of Chaos is a classic death metal album. One of the very best, hugely influential and highly unique. From the first album up to Mercenary, they made great music.
As with every music album or song, you can only play it so many times after you get a little bored with it and it stops entertaining, which is fine because I had a great time listening to their albums and I'm happy about the experience.

I go with Those Once Loyal. I really like that album a lot but I can't really say from this, Mercenary, War Master or 4th Crusade that which is the best .

I've only heard Realm Of Chaos. Are the different albums very different?

Re: Bolt Thrower
yes. IBTINL is straight up grind, War Master is the 1st of their "new era" (i.e. the album where they introduced their current sound), with the following albums continuing in the same style with slight alterations (with War Master being the most aggressive(they still had some minor influence from the RoC-era), and IVth Crusade their longest, slowest and most "epic", For Victory is a nice mix of their previous two, Mercenary is a bit more melodic with some filler material, HVP is their weakest because of the change of vocalist and Those Once Loyal is a very strong return to the IVth/FV sound). i'd recommend starting with Those Once Loyal and then, if you dig it, get the rest.. otherwise just get War Master

Mercenary
One of the greatest death metal bands I've ever heard. I'm sad that they are not making a new album, but happy enough to know that they are still touring! Every album of them is great, they are one of the bands that defines Death Metal!

There aren't too many albums that I enjoy more than Realm of Chaos, War Master and The IVth Crusade.

Re: Bolt Thrower
Mercenary is my fave since there is a better drummer on it who grooves brilliantly imo.
All the other albums are great also.
I am seeing them on the upcoming tour in Atak Enschede. NO GROLSCH NO GLORY!!!
