Infester - to the depths, in degradation

Infester - to the depths, in degradation

Post by droidspawn »

I know I often say shit like “this is fucking great and the best whatever blah blah blah” but this time is beyond that. This is up there with none so vile with one of the best death metal albums ever made. Came out in 94. The kicker…the members are 15, 16, and 17 when they wrote and recorded this. The atmosphere on this thing is truly creepy. The synths, production, everything just works. The vocals are insane for a 15 year old kid. They did psychedelics before they wrote this to make the most fucked up metal they could. The caveat, there are some stupidly idiotic lyrics on here that are questionable. For me, it’s like the DsO situation with Mikko. Plus this album came out in 94 and they never played live and broke up shortly thereafter. The guitarist/vocalist and bassist are nowhere to be found since the gloryhole era . The drummer was in Funebrarum for a while and has another active death metal band going.

The artwork is rad as fuck too. This album is the total package imo. Nearly flawless. What blows my mind most of all, is how I hadn’t heard about this album before just a month or so ago being into death metal this long and this coming out in the prime era of the genre.

And the fact that they came out of Seattle. In 94. can you imagine this coming out alongside nevermind at the time. And they were kids. :krinor:

Went on metal archives and its interesting to see that the only member that did anything musically after this short lived band was the drummer, which mainly was the one man black metal band krohm, I remember jamming some back the mid 2000s
