Yes, this. I've been jamming an 8 string some time ago, this rehearsal place had one and it really inspired me to do interesting things with it. Not trying to sound like Meshuggah because that would just sound forced, but I do see the potential of the instrument like Ihsahn and Batushka use it for example.
I got a lot of jazzy sludge things out of it.
