i saw a snake eating a frog live this morning, it had already taken off its leg, the frog was still alive

i tried to move it but it slid away into the bushes,

then i tried to flood the bushes with the hose but my dog ran over there and started drinking the water under the bushes and wouldn't listen to me

so i turned off the water and put the dog in the house for half an hour

I have heard it in multiple places I guess I cannot personally verify the stat but it is fairly well known amongst hunters and those in the know. Shocking to those unfamiliar with birds and or deer.

Another surprising bird predator is squirrels many, possibly even most, animals we think of as herbivores are surprisingly omnivorous.

I'm guessing cats kill far more birds of any age than deer.
Free-ranging domestic cats have been introduced globally and have contributed to multiple wildlife extinctions on islands. The magnitude of mortality they cause in mainland areas remains speculative, with large-scale estimates based on non-systematic analyses and little consideration of scientific data. Here we conduct a systematic review and quantitatively estimate mortality caused by cats in the United States. We estimate that free-ranging domestic cats kill 1.3–4.0 billion birds and 6.3–22.3 billion mammals annually.
