But seriously though, I think ligature marks is the heaviest song I’ve ever heard. Definitely the heaviest thing meshuggah have ever done. :judge:

OK IM HERE

I've listened to this about 10 times, time for another spin, this might rank up with their best, its so dense with riffage and tasty treats, its unreal how a band can maintain such quality and crush all this new djent shit, they make it sound so easy :xx:

kaleidoscope is a bop, tomas compared it to a more metal-y do not look down and he was correct in that assessment. just a good loopy boppy fun time about drugs lying to your brain :serenity:

Yeah this thing came along at just the right time for me because every aspect is not only clicking but it’s nearly perfect, imo. The sound, tempos, dynamics, song writing, riffs, drums godlike as always, maybe jens best vocal performance ever. The only flaw I can find is that stupid ass cover art. Even that is starting to have its charm because the record itself is so great.

also phantoms is just so fucking effortlessly perfect. every meshuggah album for the last fifteen years has one perfect song that's perfect in part because of how fucking easy they make it sound, like they were all on different toilets composing via dropbox. phantom's is this album's

ligature marks doesn’t have the same effortlessness

i don’t mean the best song or your favorite song. i mean there is always one song that sounds like matt damon in good will hunting burning the proof and shouting ‘do you know how easy this is, this is a fucking joke’
