i don't know if you can really call necrophagist forgotten. they were one of the most popular (and egregiously overhyped) bands of their era. people just stopped talking about them because they fucked off and there was nothing left to discuss

but if you ask any random metalhead who their favorite techdeath band circa 2005 was, 99 out of 100 will answer necrophagist

perhaps, but even by the end of the aughts their popularity had severely declined. I guarantee if you asked 10 people at a shitty river of owls show who necrophagist are 9/10 will have no idea who the fuck you're talking about.
