I've never been to a state fair before

Post by Mesarthim »

so I went to the Minnesota state fair today. it was quintessential americana for sure.

lots of livestock was seen, went on some carnival rides, viewed various art competitions, looked at some cool technology exhibitions, drank some beer, and ate a whole lot of different foods on a stick.
the best part was that it was overcast and cool all day - never got above 65F/18C :greenie:

I feel like there are really only a couple of state fairs that are known well outside of their respective states. Texas and Minnesota are it for sure.

Yes sir Minnesota is internationally known, unsure if Texas is as well. Have not been to one in 16 years.

We take the kids to the maryland state fair every year. It's nothing crazy but they get a kick out of it.

Some of my wife's family does the 4h thing. So the kids go hang out with their cousins show off whatever livestock they brought.
