Well...it's pretty much a re-skin of Divinity - Original Sin 2
Turn-based combat

A lot of people are saying the same thing, that's it's a re-skin of Divinity. I don't have a problem with turn-based combat.

I don't mind Divinity 2 being turn-based and it works well for that game.
But this is Baldur's Gate. The combat system is one of its hallmarks and it's one of the things that made it a great game together with other games with the same combat system (Planescape, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, etc.).

Well...after 5 hours of game time, I can confidently say the game is basically just a re-skin of DOS2. A few new features here and there like being able to jump to unreachable areas and being able to dip your sword in fire from the surrounding environment but otherwise a DOS2 reskin nonetheless. The graphics and game engine are very much the same. Not that it's a bad thing though - it is quite enjoyable.

Well there’s that. There’s a dice roll scene for some checks/saving throws/dialogue options/etc.

Has the armor system of DOS 2 made a return in BG3 ?

Ok so that right there indicates it is not a reskin of DOS 2. If by combat system you mean that there are a lot of environmental effects and they factor into the combat, that will irritate me a little bit because in DOS2 it ended up being too much of rocks papers scissors.

They did that already in the first game. I’m sure you can do it again.
