I joined a second chess club this year, I like to play people

I might play 30 to 40 games a year this way. I'm too old for internet chess, it kills my eyes and back

I play the queens gambit with white and the modern defence and the benoni with black

Getting comfortable with this. Now I notice my level of play drops in the middlegame so I want to improve that. And my calculating skills aren't very good. I do blunder much less

I play the Caro-Kann as black against E4, my reasoning is that it forces certain responses from white - unsure whether this is correct but I picked it and will stick with it for a while. As white I play D4 but I am not so experienced in this opening yet, lots of London system. Where an opponents opening forces a certain line I try to be as sound as possible in my responses and just hope there aren't any tricks or tactics against them.
