Got MGLA's new one coming on Friday. Not their best effort but still worthy to add to my vinyl collection.

after inadvertently ruining the $20 headphones i used at work the other day, i ordered a pair of sony mdr7506 headphones to replace them. that pair arrived in the mail today. easily the best sounding headphones under $100 i've ever listened to and also better than everything over $100 i've listened to.

i also ordered the new ulver 2xLP although i haven't received it yet. it's the best new album i've heard in a good while.

I am a headphone-smashing fiend and I found these to be a godsend:

Despite the price they sound as good as the several pairs of  $25 in-ear creatives, JVC's and Sennheisers I've had. I bought a ton of them.

my current pair of headphones is about at the end of its cycle of usefulness, i believe. the left side operates at about 50% :oldryan:

i do not currently have a spare $80 to drop on these, but if next month's paycheck is as heavy as i suspect it could be i will take your recommendation

Sonic Youth - Goo arrived in the post and made me oh so happy.

Played a nice gig in Burlington last night. Rob (drummer) and I went up early to walk around town and popped into the record shop. I grabbed up the 180gram reissues of Violent Femmes and Black Sabbath. :xx: Also grabbed a cd of Nails - Abandon All Life on sale to jam on the drive home that night.

I know it may seem a little excessive to buy a record right after I've gotten the CD, but it was $12.99 on Amazon. I could not refuse that. I'll just give the CD to MiniAbzu (like I do whenever I buy a record of something I have on CD -- he is excitedly growing quite the CD collection :fonz: ).

The Ulver reissues arrived 2 days before the tracking number said. Happy boy in this period, I am. Kveldssanger came with sheet music to Ulvsblakk!!! and the poster to Nattens Madrigal is beautiful. It hangs over my turntable now in my living room. It is so lovely to have a well-sized poster of one of my longtime favorite pieces of art. The jackets are a nice and heavy stock (much like the Neurosis reissues from Relapse) and the liner notes are wonderful. I'm still just listening to Bergtatt as I write this, but so far this is a beautiful sounding reissue. I believe the previous boxset's mastering was used, if I recall the sticker correctly.
