fucking wonderful. it was a very greatest hits kind of setlist, but being the first time i've seen FNM/patton, i am totally down with that format. they did i think four things from the new one, cover interlude was rich sexy leopard elevator, and they busted out the full rendition of i started a joke. one of the best performances i've seen, hopefully i can catch them again in august

A group of us have met up on the anniversary of his death for the last three years but we always drive out to where he had his accident and have a picnic filled with deep and sad reflections as opposed to partying. There is always a lot of serious talk on life, politics and stuff. Dan was always up for the booze and weed though so it would actually be nice to have a party this year instead.

Good idea.

We've been doing this every 4or5 years. A group of maybe 15 friends, along with a few dozen ladies that were/are friends of his then gir.lfriend.

Right of the bat we figured this would be the right way to remember him, and it never fails, we have the time of our lives. Dudes go out of their way to clear their schedule this weekend so no wifes, children or work will "get in the way"

It's nice to remember once in while that even though everyone has their career, parenthood and/or marriage now, we're still the craziest bunch out there

Once every five years at least

I was too young to really understand the term greed back then, just seemed like everyone who got the chance took it. I was one of the lucky ones who was offered a really good job, so I took it. I've changed jobs since then but this experience was very valueable and immensely fun.
