Ableton?

Post by FUKKET »

Anyone here use Ableton?

A co-worker just gave it to me & I'm wondering if i should go home & try it out.

I'm very happy and doing fine with my current setup (CubaseSX) and wonder if i should have a go?

moving from a garbage disposal back to the dumpster but it’s an improvement nonetheless

I used it for a while when I couldn't get SX3 to work on my PC... hated it, very different from Cubase. Later on I moved on to Reaper.

I've started using Reaper, not for mixing but for recording. I record all my stuff in Reaper and import it into Cubase now :santa:

Ableton Live (especially the new one, 8 i think) is a great program!

very useful for live usage, loops, electronic music, etc. it's a great composing software!

But I'm literally working with ProTools every day now, so personally I find that the most useful, easy and proper program to use (when composing, recording and mixing). Otherwise I'd say try Logic Pro 8 or 9 but that's only for Mac nowadays.
