Obama's Declaration Of Swine Flu Emergency Prompts Pro-Swine-Flu Republican Response

WASHINGTON—Claiming that the president was preying on the public's fear of contracting a fatal disease last week when he declared the H1N1 virus a national emergency, Republican leaders announced Wednesday that they were officially endorsing the swine flu. "Thousands of Americans—hardworking ordinary Americans like you and me—already have H1N1," Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele said during a press conference. "Now Obama wants to take that away from us. Ask yourself: Do you want the federal government making these kinds of health care decisions for you and your family?" Other prominent Republicans opposing Obama's declaration of emergency include Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, who urged residents of his state to continue not washing their hands, and radio host Rush Limbaugh, who made a point of dying of the virus during his show on Wednesday.

Enough people are disenfranchised that it's actually possible to do this. Like any other nation America's biggest threat is the overreaching government. Policy of the progressives (on both democrat and republican sides) is what is destroying the economy, healthcare (medicare and medicad anyone?), oh yeah and housing. Their policies are meant to nudge us in the direction they want it sounds crazy until you look at the facts.

Maybe it's similar enough to last years to allow your "old" antibodies to bind to it. Maybe it's evolved too much and your "old" antibodies no longer "fit". In the former case you may get away with it and survive infection. In the latter case, you'll be infected. This slow evolving of the Influenza viruses over time is why different vaccines are needed (and made) each year.

The shit hits the fan if, for example, an influenza virus which affects pigs and ducks, and an influenza virus which affects humans and ducks, both infect a single duck. There can be a sort of shufflng of the genes. This can end up producing a completely new influenza virus, which can infect humans, but to which no (or virtually no) human has any antibodies. And to which "last year's vaccine" has no effect.

I haven't been following the whole Swine Flu issue closely at all. I think we were just lucky that although this latter scenario occurred, it's not as virulent as the 1918 one. I think there may be a fear that the virus doesn't need to mutate a whole lot to become much more virulent, and this could cause major problems seeing as so many people have little or no immunty to anything like it.

That in itself is a reason for "healthy" people to be vaccinated. Sure if you get the virus, you may just be sick for a few days and not die. But you may pass it on to someone else, like your children, and they may die.

The main reason I think there is such a fuss is, as I said, pretty much nobody in the world has any significant immunity to it. We are lucky it doesn't kill many previously "healthy" people like Spanish Flu did, but now that the virus is out there, it will be evolving continuously in the "regular flu" way. The problem is that the virus does not need very much mutation at all to become massively more virulent. And that, combined with it's background ability to infect everyone, could cause a huge death toll.

If everyone got the vaccine, any such change in virulence of the virus would cause no more problem than a "regular flu" does. Because it then would not be able to spread globally. Even if the vaccine is against the present form, before it changes to become more deadly, the virus still would not be able to spread any more than a "regular flu".[/quote]

i got a video from the drummer but the quality was so bad from the conversion from camera to cd that i asked him to try again and make a better conversion because the one i got really sucked, bad sound quality and the video and sound were not in sync.

Wouldn't an army be almost useless if the world was controlled by one government? There wouldn't be anyone to fight, no nation or group in their right mind would even think about attacking someone.

no it wouldnt be useless as it would force its laws on all nations and if any nation would not obey then the world army will take care of them. Its simple, we are the elites slaves, controlled, watched and have to obey they laws which is about them controlling us and not giving us freedom and they are taking away freedom more and more each day with new laws.
