How many hours of the day is it dark in Iceland?
I'm asking because I looked at some of Haffstein's pictures and it's really depressing to see that it's always dark in his pictures.

I predict that this varies as the year progresses.

your prediction isn't very useful at all for answering this question I'm afraid

During summer (april - august) it never gets dark, bright daylight 24 hours a day. The darkest time is November - February, it'll be bright from 11am to 3:30pm.

You just close the drapes and you'll never notice. This is best thing about living in Iceland. Nothing beats having some beers with friends out on the porch at 4am in daylight.

Re: How many hours of the day is it dark in Iceland?
I read a study recently that had to do with the increased number of suicides among youths in Greenland. basically they almost all took place during the summer months so that the thinking now is that having sunlight all day is actually what caused them (combined with there being nothing to do) rather than the darkness of winter.

Re: How many hours of the day is it dark in Iceland?
its more the by product of denmark taking over a country full of hunter/gatherer folks, taking away their livelyhood and moving them into apartment blocks and introducing them to shotguns and alcohol =suicides
