i know it is, but whats gonna happen when we're 70 years old and we never settled down and grew old together like lovers are supposed to? :tear: its like, me and my dad have never been that close, but he's my dad, and i want to find a way to make friends with him and cut through our differences. its fascinating and tragic in this way how superficial differences in opinion and identity, like with democrats vs. republicans, can destroy relationships. i once observed a passionately driven progressive liberal fellating lover of mine throw a conservative person out of the house because of an argument about war. :frown:

I think there's a point at which political views validate kicking people out of your life, war being a prime example.

If someone supports war (any war), they support the mass-murder of people just like you and me. How can you have someone like that in your life, knowing that, in the abstract, they support killing you for their own agenda?

that is exactly my delema! i'll post an analogy. think of the importance of "tradition" in death metal. what would it be like if morbid angel moved past blast beats because they wanted to explore, and incidentally, abandon an essential part of who they are? it might turn out fine, but its also a risk, maybe a juvenile one.

Married--five years on 12/21.
I am the Dragon. And you call me insane. You are privy to a great becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun. You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing correctly: Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe.

because in that case i support shutting my dad out or a potential fellating lover out of my life because of my pinko-philosophy. and, in the example i cited, was war really affecting us at the time of the debate? no, we were in america, totally not involved in the war, and just smoking pot, eating vegetarian, and jacking off our egos. our opinion was totally abstracted and desensitized from the reality of the war in iraq.

And the reality of the war in Iraq is that people are getting killed, and to you, that's somehow okay.

Back on topic: I've never been in a relationship.
