financial aid

Post by cat hallucination »

what do you guys know about this stuff? is it hard to get some, if say you haven't ever had good grades, and you already dropped out of college once and you have bad credit because you didn't return some movies?

I get financial Aid through California Department of Rehab because I have a mild form of Autism. I set up a thing with them and filled out all the paper work, as long as my GPA stays 2.0 or higher and I stay a fulltime student they pay for my tuition and school fees and 500 bucks towards my books. The program I'm trying to get into has stricter requirements than the 2.0 GPA.

Financial aid is based on your individual income or your family income depending on your situation like the school I go to:

Your best bet would be starting with community college and taking some general ed to get back in the swing of things. If you don't qualify community college is usually fairly affordable. Classes at my school are usually (without aid) 26 dollars, remember I'm in California and I'd think it'd be consistant with California junior college but I'm not sure; The school I go to is in Saratoga which is a very expensive (2.5 million or more per home) part of town that might contribute to costs.

credit score shouldn't have an impact on your federal aid eligibility, FAFSA takes maybe like an hour tops to fill out, and shouldn't take more than a week or two to fully process. probably helps if you're old enough where you can opt out of including your family's financial info (iirc that's 24 or so).

you need to have schools to submit the info to though, so you'll need to have an acceptance somewhere to complete the application. i think.

yah i collected the bit about being old enough. i'm sure i qualify. damn noyka, i didn't know that classes were that cheap for a community college.

with such a notion at hand though guys, i will go ahead and comment on the corruption in our education system. classes are that cheap for a community college, but i've gotta pay 100,000 for the bachelors degree? that is so fucked up. there is something wrong when one of the most important pursuits (learning) of humanity is so dependent upon such superficiality. in principle, i've decided that if i pursue college, it will be TO SPITE AND USE the system in order to achieve a professional position. i understand the importance of high standards and selectiveness, but how many unethical duche bags do you know who scheet there way through business school for no other reason than to play and manipulate the economy? where-as the economy could be played for progression and growth for a much higher purpose.

to me education is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too private. government please step in. i think college education and a b.d. should be (and i'm exagurating here) fucking REQUIRED.

The 26 dollars is per unit so classes are between 78 and 130 bucks. 100,000 to get a degree? That doesn't sound right

Are you serious about government solving college issues? Have you been to a public school recently?
