when i pester and annoy people with trying to "blow them away" with death metal and the how the blast beat is to death metal what the swing is to jazz and all that stuff...i show them first and most importantly the intro into main riff blast beat, and a of people think its really cool. and it is..

then usually its summoning redemption

and the newly discovered mastery of suffocation - the invoking.

also some stuff from fear factory soul of a new machine

some of the more "rocking" swedeath albums like Wolverine Blues or Massive Killing Capacity

later era Death (Symoblic and TSOP) if wanking isn't a problem

heartwork i think is a great example of accessible death metal, but only if we're being really, really loose with the concept of accessibility.

you need more than catchiness for mass appeal, and the basic style/aesthetic of death metal pretty much guarantees that anything resembling DM is automatically disqualified from being accessible.

i'm listening to despise the sun for the first time,and its very accessible, especially catatonia. this album is fucking blowing me away. the production is masterful. pretty excited about it. and btw...accessible means objectively awesome.

yah i know, i wasn't being serious. i agree more with your definition. but, when it comes to sharing death metal with your ill grandmother, there is no such thing as accessible death metal.
