Is there any way Snowden could ever get a job in the US anyway? Even if he somehow evades life sentence or a death penalty, there's no way he could have a normal life.

If he's the champion that anyone who hates our government wants him to be, why isn't he spearheading the efforts to criminalize the NSA's actions? Why didn't he go to an attorney with all this super secret insider information? Making theater out of the spy program's newfound publicity is hardly an effective way of combatting the policies that gave Big Brother license to log my phone calls and emails in the first place. I don't like it and neither does anyone else but this bullshit isn't going to stop any faster if Snowden keeps hiding. He fucked himself by not taking the initiative.

Even if Snowden revealed this information in the US we still wouldn't hear about the NSA on the news, all we'd hear about is his trial and every other aspect of his life for the next year. Nothing would be different other than him being locked up and bastardized on the media as a threat on the same level as Al Qaeda.



He got the fuck out and said what needed to be said. I don't blame him for leaving the US.

1) What the hell are you talking about? Regain a shred of dignity? The man is seen as a hero in most of the world for his actions. And about half of the US population sees him as a good hard-on bearer. He is more popular and well respected than he ever was working for the CIA.



2) You do know that the United States government doesn't give a damn about dignity and wants to straight up persecute, imprison or kill him, right? What you are saying is about as idiotic as the self-sacrifice of a religious person with the hope that he will enter heaven, when in fact he's just going to be dead and nothing more.

Pursuing this dude is just a distraction at this point. Meanwhile, back at the Spahn Ranch, the NSA is still fucking spying on us.



The US gov't isn't just going to lose interest in Snowden overnight. This administration will stay up his ass until he turns himself in or mysteriously dies overseas. Of course, by that point, the majority of Americans will have been successfully distracted and lose interest altogether. Maybe another secretary of state shooting will grab their attention or the fate of twinkies will be jeopardized again.

He is a hero for doing what he did, but it doesn't really come back to snowden so much as it does our government. and what i mean by that is that yeah, if he hadn't fled the country, he'd be locked the fuck up and treated like an animal. He didn't do anything to threaten overseas operations or contingencies, he revealed what needed to be known. Now, if he could come back to the US AND be treated humanely, then fine. but he wouldn't. and the really, yeah it comes down to the media. the media is spinning it all on him, not the fact that nsa director straight up lied to congress or whatever and that the government has been compiling our phone calls and such.

I don't know where you think he's losing dignity. Internationally, he's pretty much regarded as a hero.
