Re: hey Pete (Baron)
no man I don't give a fuck, if I'm honest I do miss the constant gigging we were doing in the bands successful days cos I do so love to jump onstage and drink heavily afterwards :D but thats all.
I believe I left in the best of days and with a good, credible(ish) legacy behind me and with many happy memories..plus what I saw concocting before, and have seen happening with them since I walked, I'm glad to be well out of it.
Stories huh? hmm....could be difficult without upsetting people or getting into trouble myself :tit: but highlights were things like playing and drinking/sniffling with Deicide, smoking with Obituary, playing to a packed house (10,000+ people) in Donington 2004
and coming offstage to be hassled by TV interviews and magazine peoples when I was only trying to get drunk with my bro Luca in the free Jaeger tent
spending 6 weeks in a van all around the U.S.A and filling in on bass for Mortician when Will went A.W.O.L. in the middle of a European tour..madness! fuck loads of nice experiences!
fuck man was 10 crazy years of my life that most people only dream of AND it's given me a good standard to set my musical endeavours by!!!
Can't complain!

Simply put I thought it best to exit when the music went backwards and the friendships/respects went with it. there was so much promise for exploration (IMHO) on "Choronzon" then onto "Words.." and it all got binned. So I promptly binned it...I'm still searching for some musicians that can walk the walk and talk the talk but they're thin on the ground in this town.

Do you still jam the rick from time to time?
EDIT: did you play Grasspop in 2006? It was one of the most phenomenal shows I've seen

Yeah Graspop 2006 was awesome! we played right before Obituary and Death Angel if I remember right?
I still jam mostly the Ricky in all periods and from time to time a Fender Jazz and my girls Academy bass - cheap as chips but awesome for practice.

I can honestly say that Akercocke at GMM2006 was a major metal highlight for me. The bass from the synths at a big show like that was rediculous, i could feel my eyeballs vibrting in their sockets

saw you in 2004(?) with Mortician @ the culture room in ft Lauderdale, FL.
I remember it being quite an awkward show because the entire region was under a hurricane warning and as such only like 50 people showed up.
I remember Vehemence played and I thought they were great and then Akercocke, who were also great, seemed like everyone that was there was there to see Akercocke. Mortician sucked.

yeah, the venue owner is pretty cool. probably one of the best run independent venues in the country. the place only holds like 650 or so, but bands that usually play larger venues get booked there, a lot. don't know where he gets all the capital to be able to afford that from but I've never heard a band complain about that place. I used to have some pics from the gig that I took on a disposable camera, don't know what happened to them though.

it was terrible. the only person that came off the bus was terry butler and he only got off to ask us to load their beer onto the bus and to ask where a "good" hotel was. ask tammers about it, he was there.
