I have it. Our Guitar player is endorsed by them and i got is a birthday present. Very handy device.
Orly? How different does it sound into the fx return of an amp vs the front end?
The coolest feature is that it works as a pre amp. Just plug it straight into the amp fx-return and presto. Paul uses it when he has fly-in shows on which he cannot bring ampification
The knobs are luminated. It has a battery off switch so you do not need to pull out your cables. The battery compartment is very conveniently placed and it works with either nine or 18 volts for more headroom. The gate works great and the tight control IS tight. From what i have read the gain structure/grith is somewhat like the Ampeg heads used By Suffo, Misery Index (Mark had a big input) etc.

Yeah I had read that elsewhere... I was wondering if it was too trebly when going straight to the poweramp. I had a Sansamp GT2 "preamp pedal" that sounded very different in the fx return (a lot better, as it really was terrible as a distortion pedal). But some pedals area meant to run into the front end of a clean amp(like your rat, I bet it sounds terrible straight into a poweramp).
I watched a video interview with the maker and he indeed said he based the eq curve off the ampeg vh140c... which he said was almost identical to the curve on the 5150 with Eddie's settings when he built it.
Thinking of getting this or a blackstar ht dual sometime in the not too distant future, I'd like to have something I can plug into any amp should the opportunity to jam with people arise. Running on 9v is a point in its favor, the blackstar requires a specific ac adapter(but is probably more versatile/marshally, and it has a dedicated DI out)
