Re: MORBID ANGEL Remix Album Due Next Year......................
OK, well let's take a look at the distribution here:
I Am Morbid - 11 - ~35%
Too Extreme - 6 - ~19%
Ten More Dead - 5 - ~16%
Destructos - 3 - ~10%
Radikult - 3 - ~10%
Existo Vulgore - 2 - ~6%
Mea Culpa - 1 - ~4%
so, 70% of the entire album is remixes of THREE songs. maybe my statement was a little hyperbolic, but it's not that far off the mark. this project is retarded. seriously, what sane person would subject themselves to ELEVEN RENDITIONS of a shitty manowar homage?

Quite a few people will buy it for the fact it has a Morbid Angel logo on it.

This being the ultimate download, not for buying, I still expect this release to come in a wooden triptych, nothing less then at least twice the size of the former release

awesome! have you had a chance to mess around with it much? it seems like it'd be pretty overwhelming... i get the feeling that you could spend months with hardware like that and barely scratch the surface of its functionality

You're right on the money. But, we did have theory lessons before getting into the practical side of things.
Since we're all used to the digital era of all things music, a lot of things seemed very unlogical and cumbersome. You really had to get into that mind set engineers had during those analog days. Once you've patched different waves (sine, square, block or triangle) with some cool modulation, you can play some amazing dark shit you just can't get out of synth plugins like that. Although Arturia, Absynth and Moog have some amazing digital synths. But nowadays I also think it's the other way around. Some of those VST's produce sounds I'd never imagine possible with an analogue synth.

Both have their qualities, definitely. I am unspeakably jealous of you for having played with one of those beasts, by the way.

Arturia do a VST of one of those hardware synths I think. You alter the sound in the same fashion by plugging it in differently.

i use these (craxed).
but they often crash/fail etc due to the license issue.
the cracks work ok in standalone, but within a DAW they make me cry

I noticed this a couple days ago. The only track I really wanted to hear was Laibach's, and it was no good.
There were however a few interesting ideas from other artists. Only problem is they occur immediately in the song and then repeat over and over in lieu of any chance of developing into something.
I don't know if Trey originally intended to have the remixes done, but either way he sure didn't give those people much to work with.
