Does anyone else feel embarrassed about liking metal in general?[/quote]
sometimes because you get the "oh, yeah that [popmetal] band".

Re: your local metalheads
I asked wikipedia about pop metal, it told me this.
"Glam metal (also known as hair metal and often used synonymously with pop metal)"

That was spot on in the 80s into the gloryhole era , though to muddle genres I disagree that that shit was even metal.

Re: your local metalheads
There really aren't a lot of metalheads around here. I don't really even see mall goths anymore. My best fellating lover used to be a huge metalhead, but now he just kinda holds dick for Avenged Sevenfold. You can run into quite a few real, tasteful metalheads further into Denver, but they only turn up at shows.

Need a new signature? Why not Zoidberg? (V) (;,,;) (V)

Still the same. Some of them are dads now and would refer to the aforementioned as 'classic' metal bands.

Re: your local metalheads
haven't really immersed myself in the metal scene here in Minnesota yet but seeing how many tours typically stop here there should be a fairly strong scene. when I lived in central Florida I felt like 0rlando had a much stronger scene than Tampa. whenever I traveled over to Tampa for shows it seemed like a very large portion of the crowd came from 0rlando....we really should have arranged some bus transport or something
