I'm a fan of all of their albums. But I'm probably the only one here that is.

blackwater bore has some of their best riffs, but holymotheroffuck do they overplay them. the whole album is like this "cool riff × bazillion, mediocre riff × over 9000, boring acoustic part. rinse, repeat". it would've been pretty cool if it was at least 40% shorter :alien:

but, morningrise>>>the rest (that fretless bass is simply delicious :redneck: )

The first two Opeth albums are great. Everything else this band has done bores me to tears. I can't imagine what it must be like seeing them live. :oldryan:

I'll bet. I wanted to see Enslaved on that tour but paying $30.00 to watch them play four songs and fall asleep during Opeth didn't seem worth it. :oldryan:

i disagree. i think Opeth are pretty enjoyable live; they play some songs somewhat differently (for example Closure live>>>>>>>>>album, although their setlists could use some work), and akerfeldt is a pretty funny hard-on bearer live. he has some of the best in-between-songs banter, unlike boring dudes like benton or nergal. although, their on-stage presence could use some work. it's way too static

I loved it when I saw them live. I enjoyed every moment of it when I saw them a few years ago.

haha fuck i totally missed the boat on that one.

pretend i didn't jump on that bandwagon about way too late. they're seriously fucking garbage as a live act, it's like a heavy metal jonas brothers, it's impeccably clean and safe and AIDS-ridden. if you are like, heavily risk-averse, live Opeth is the show for you. if you care about music, giving them money may cause you to wither and die. please, take care with your wallet when Opeth is in your area. AIDS can strike at any time, and Opeth are counting on your guard being down! Don't succumb!

(fuck i really gotta stop drinking and then going onto the internet etc. fuck)
