That entire show was a clusterfuck from start to finish. I'm sure we've all seen the disastrous "God of Emptiness" from it. Damn...
I am the Dragon. And you call me insane. You are privy to a great becoming, but you recognize nothing. To me, you are a slug in the sun. You are an ant in the afterbirth. It is your nature to do one thing correctly: Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe.

I also initially suspected this was a shred video.

I'm curious as to where all the LSD speculation is coming from. I'm not disagreeing necessarilly but why acid? Why not crack, as the Scion performance might indicate?

If you haven't used a psychedelic or had a heavy psychedelic experience then you've missed out on life. LSD isn't a drug it's way more than that. And it's no surprise Trey has used them. Crack kills and isn't good or fun or anything to learn from.

Marijuana & LSD are. If you havent had the expirience then you don't know. If you listen to Treys older interviews and then have a LSD experience and then listen again your like..WOW! But in this clip I doubt he was tripping nor using anything. You guys remember that pot thing he used to always have on his amp head? I used to always laugh and think he was burning pot in it  anyone can argue about this post but it's true so fuck yourselfs . Trey just doesn't have the "Magic" anymore :tear:

I dont know, but i remember ive read somewhere that Trey has recently started taking LSD.

or may be tucker was correct that trey now only wants to play video game

P.S. my point was not about him taking any drug on stage.

Ouch, that was pretty fruital (and not in a good way). :frown:

When seeing recent clips of Trey playing live and listening to "Illud," it just seems that he doesn't get any inspiration or enjoyment out of playing death metal or even playing guitar anymore. Of course, it's natural for interests to change over time, but instead of putting the band to rest, they're continuing in order to pay the bills. Did any of you see the ridiculous blasphegram leather wristbands and other shit that is being sold from their Facebook page now? It's kind of like KISS at this point - just tour (even without the old members, like Pete), play the classics, and collect a check. In a weird way, though, I can't say I blame them too much. What other financial prospects do they have at this point?

One sad thing happened tonight, though - I recently got a few new CDs in the mail and I'm totally out of room in my CD racks, so I had to remove some CDs I never listen to and toss them in the closet to make room for the new stuff. One of those CDs was "Illud." I never thought I'd be throwing anything by Morbid Angel away like that.

that's exactly it. for the most part, these guys don't really have marketable skills outside of morbid angel; certainly, they don't have any kind of pensions or retirement funds or anything, and i doubt they've made enough over the years to have stashed away enough to weather a real retirement period. it's pretty sad, and i don't mean that in a condescending way. these guys have made a legitimate, important contribution to american culture, and they're probably going to wind up hopelessly impoverished once senescence denies them the ability to tour frequently enough to keep the bills paid.

don't bet on it. all of these band reunions that have been happening over the last 4-5 years occur for one of two reasons; either the members are all so filthy rich, they can afford to 'get the band back together' and tour for the sake of fun and appeasing the new fans that never had a chance to see them the first time around, OR, they can make more doing a couple tours and cranking out a new album, than they can at their day jobs.

i have serious doubts that the former applies to basically any of these bands, and if breaking back into the fray is more lucrative than their typical day jobs, these guys are all completely fucked.

it's pretty tragic.

A lot of the reunion bands made nothing in the first run of their carreers. Most of them are reuniting for special occasions ( a one off summer festival gig 9 out of ten times) After that the phone keeps ringing. With some more business sense they can do these tours and gigs, and make a little money. But no way they can live off it 100%. They have to fit it in between their dayjobs and days off.

Unless you are a very big name. But we are talking (extreme) metal now.

Also why do I get the feeling some posters on here think MA owe them something? It's pretty obvious they have never made music for the sake of making fans happy. It's quite strange how angry people get about music in general. If you are so disapointed it's your own fault and yes I am guilty of this aswell.

I had a a dream the other night about Trey........No not one of those dreams silly, but Trey was in an interview. On a well known daytime show here in England called This morning, he was being interviewed about the anus album and asked if he actually liked it. Trey was silent for about 10 seconds then responded "The solos are cool".

I wonder what you think of Sworn To The Black's lava.[/quote]
