i don't like the whole black gothic model at all, too plain or flat looking.

Yeah, when it comes to an LP, you need to see a bit of history right?

 personally I love the sun and honey bursts. That old wooden look is awesome on LP's. :xx:

i'm all for minimalist/muted designs, but i don't think it's a good look for the LP. the gothic series strikes me as having the look of a boring $100 starter guitar, or like they got halfway through putting the guitar together and just decided 'meh, fuck it, good enough'. the hardware accents, binding, inlays and whatnot are integral to what makes the model so visually appealing in the first place, IMO.

I (and subsequently, Ironman) had an Epiphone Gothic explorer back in the day. To this day I think it's a good look for that style of guitar, shame about the Epiphone build quality.

I liked the original gibson gothic series. The epiphone ones weren't as nice looking. What was the name of the Gibson series that replaced the gothic? They were similar but were black stain over red and had black and red pickups... I thought that was a pretty nice.

i didn't really care for the voodoo look either. although it might be the godsmack association at work there, more than the guitar itself :redneck:

i strategically ignore the shit out of godsmack. the voodoo is nice, but the red inlay is so fugly i can't get past it
