What I don't understand, and forgive me if this sounds ignorant a I'm not a guitar player. Is that whether someone is a fast player or not, is not subjective, but objective based on tests and study. There should be no opinions or polls or anything.

Well I read them but my point is why are there polls for these kind of things as speed is merely mathmatical and scientific. There's no such thing as "I vote for him because I believe he's the fastest". People just end up voting for their favourite guitarist because it's their favourite band or whatever.

the subjectivity i reckon would be "well i can play song X faster than you, but not song Y." so your basis would be because of a variable (the song) which is itself flexible
