yeah, people are over reacting like crazy. it's just a fucking storm. a cat 1 is just a bad thunderstorm. seriously just stay inside unless your in a flood zone. otherwise you will be fine. the media are fucking retarded.

Two towns were leveled (+1 Atlantis) and my town is cut off on all roads from the rest of the world

Yeah no kidding. This storm was nothing. The worst that happened was some flooding in basements and stuff and some tiny little branches lying about, and I got hit when it was still a category 1.

:fuckoff: The wind didn't do it. The wind wasn't shit (except the tornado in Canaan, NH and the microburst in Pawlet, VT it produced). It was the fucking rain. This isn't some flat land where rain distribution will end up fairly even. The valleys and mountains and river networks collect then destroy. We ended up with very severe flooding.

Example: one of the main roads out of my city this morning, after the river level dropped:

That river flows down a mountain before evening out in this valley. Through the night and into yesterday, the rain dumped into it from not only the length of it but also runoff surrounding it, causing it to rise drastically and overtake the road. This causes trees and medium boulders from along the banks to loose and travel down at an amazing speed and crash into the bridge. After hours of this, the bridge will eventually fall down in a giant display of homosexuality.

Vermont and NH got the bulk of it. This town is still a disaster area. I took pics of twisted rr tracks today.
