Altars of Madness query

Post by FUKKET »

so I pulled out Altars - been AGES since i've listened to it!

Just looking at the notes - "produced by Dig & MA".

Is this Dig, as in Digby Pearson?

Also the "remixes". Is it me - or is it basically just different solos, and with a bit of reverb on the rhythm guitars?

Not really a remix perse, more a "alt version".

I've never seen any of the bonus doco stuff, so apologies if this info is on there.

Dig = Digby.

And as far as I can tell it is just the solos that are different in those re-mixes, which I suppose would simply make them alternate takes.

I always thought the drums sounded ever so slightly higher in the mix on the remixes. Whenever I play this album and I want to listen to Chapel of ghouls I play the remix version, as the solo during the epic part sounds a lot more fitting and meaningful :bang:

Yes, the mix is also very slightly different.

I've always found them quite disturbing.
