Well, extreme is extreme, which includes extreme differences between songs. Extreme to me means literally no boundaries. As soon as somebody starts putting things into a box, that’s their problem. That sounds like creative limitations, and true creativity doesn’t have such limitations, in my opinion.

how about challenging boundaries, then, evil taint, instead of writing music that literally would have fit right in with the metal scene had you released it in 1997?

So "I" album is like "This is my band and I can do anything with it."

Conceptual win, Musically 'Fail", there are loads of differences between A B and C, but the traditionality of Metal was always there. Morbid angel (was)= Trey, so trey dont care anymore of what David saying about the band.

The ancient one is no more ancient, pretty hardcore now.

I cant trace Trace Azagthoth's thoughts through this WEAK form of music.

Well things in M.A. are definitely different and even if they can pull a J album I don't foresee them going back to what they were.

Agreed. The internet is full of folks blaming David, though Trey came up with the techno stuff. I think that inspired David to do a song as radicult. Which Trey obviously liked or it would not have been on the album.

Trey did a great work on Nevermore, beauty meets beast and radikult(solo only). The other tracks are so just weak. That my problem. No strength for me there. Here i disagree with Trey. About DiscoD's vocals, they made the album even worse, I cant even listen to good part of the album.

It kills me when Disco D is talking about how hard they worked on this record, especially in terms of figuring out drum parts for the "techno" (I use that term lightly) parts and such. Really? It was that hard to figure out how TIm could play 4/4 beats with the drums replaced by industrial/techno samples? Seriously, listen to something like Dødheimsgard's "666 International" (an AWESOME record which I love!) to see how that has been done, not to mention more effectively and imaginatively 12 years ago!



I guess the overall thing that bothers me is the insinuation that MA worked really hard on this - does Illud really sound that way to anyone? If anything, it sounds like an album that was done at the last minute with a bunch of studio fuckery just to get it out. The mention that they only played "Nevermore" as a band prior to going into the studio makes it sound like it was an ill-rehearsed album that was mostly pieced together in the studio. There's no "band" on this album - just a bunch of random ideas that were glued together in a studio environment, and that's sad.

Do you mean tour instead of play?

I think he will be able to play for fun at home, for a short period of time. Nothing more than that.
