Who ordered the "Starpack" directly from SoM website?

Post by KevinP »

I did back in April but nothing arrived in the mail yet. Not even an email to say the order was shipped recently or anything.

Anyone else in the USA get theirs yet?

I ordered cd in April and it hasn't been shipped yet.

You can see what happens with your order here: <!-- m -->http://e-shop.season-of-mist.com/en/tracker<!-- m -->

Yeah I checked their, but their site sucks and gives such limited information.

Why the heck did I even bother ordering from them if I can't even get the thing in a timely manner. Could have spent $10 and got it from Amazon already. :homework:

Hmm. They sent me an email on June 1 to say my package was 'being prepared for shipping', whatever the hell that means...then it arrived the next day. I'd suggest just emailing them directly to ask what's going on with it.

Yeah already emailed them. So we'll see. Just annoys me when I don't have something on release day or the day after. Especially when I paid extra for it :shakefist:

everything i've read here in the past month or so seems to indicate SoM is a really shitty company to order direct from. for the obscene prices they charge, you'd expect to at least get decent service, but apparently this is not the case

I got an email this morning saying it was being prepared for shipping. Th'fuck is this bullshit?! When I pre-ordered Heretic, I had it a week before release date, godfuckingdamnit. Fuck pre-ordering from those fucking cunts. If I had not pre-ordered it, I could have just walked to the store and gotten it today.

Okay, talk about total shit, I get an email from SoM where one hard-on bearer tells the other hard-on bearer to process this order and ship it out today.

1 - why wasn't this processed already without me PROMPTING them to do it

2 - how unpersonal to not even respond to me, just CC me on an email to the shipping department

Last time I order from these douches

And I can almost smell them screwing this up with the whole digipak/starpack thing. The only reason I ordered through them was my normal place (AMAZON) didn't offer the Starpack, since that was the European version.

I mean SoM has a great roster of bands and put out some great releases lately (Septicflesh, Nader Sadek, Atheist) but it seems like everything has production delays or they can't ship stuff out in a timely manner.

How the fuck is that a way to run a company? Oh wait, it's a :piss2: french :piss1: company, should have known :wall: :wall: :wall:

Hell I did not get my Nevermore EP until yesterday! YESTERDAY! I still went to my local F.Y.E. and bought the CD though, last copy they had, and it was already ,marked down from 14.99 to 9.99. Damn. If the EP experience is a gauge, I don't expect my box set for a fucking another month. I emailed them so many times, finally I got a reply about the single, but it was not very customer friendly. I will not order from this company again.

It was 9.99 because that's the sale price dude. Literally 98% of music/movies are cheap like that the first week of release :santa:

this being a record label however, 'proper' in this case means a few sheets of newspaper between the shipping box and the merchandise

Yes based off your experience I contacted SoM this morning, and got a reply. I explained, very nicely, that I had some concerns as friends had already gotten their box-sets and stated that they were damaged from being very poorly packaged.

He replied back that he had heard this from the French office and once the shipment arrives over here they will be packaging extra special.

IF there is a problem though he explained it would get replaced. I had inquired about them being sold out and they are not according to him.

I was kinda bummed about the wrecked box. So i spend a couple of hours taking it apart. I glued back all the broken pieces and assembled the thing again using a very good quality wood glue. Still the damage is clearly visible and the two tryptich panels keep falling off. I am glad they will replace it as it was pretty much totalled. It is pretty big. It looks different than the promo-pic SoM had on their site. The signs on the inside are not as elaborate as the pic. And the sizes of the box vs. the incense burner vs. the leather booklet vs. the vinyl are wrong on the pic. It is the same as the photo where the SoM dude is holding it. It is basicly a private travel altar like they used two centuries ago in europe. A place to keep your psalm books and candles.

It looks cool, it just does not fit with this album. If it had accompanied Blessed or Covenant it would have made more sense. A couple of extacy pills and an energy drink would have been more in place.... The mystic vibe has left the music and there is no place for incence and candles on the dancefloor is there?

I'll see if i can make some pics tomorrow then everyone can call me a idiot for pre-ordering one

Okay, I called the US office, spoke with a really nice who was super apologetic. He stated that they have not even received the Starpacks yet, they should arrive within 1.5 weeks and then they will be sent out. :wall: :wall: :wall: I told him why did France tell them to fullfill my order today if they have not received them yet, but he did not have an answer for that one.

He seemed to be frustrated as well and said the new Samael is being held up in customs due to not having the proper paperwork for the past MONTH. :tvrkey:

Damn, what a clusterfuck of a mail order system they have. Yeah, life goes on, but it's a pet peeve of mine, when I order something, I want it in my hands by release date, NOT weeks later. All this drama for a "metal tin" :oof: :oof: :oof:

This is the very first bad experience I've had with a pre-order (still waiting... not even a special edition!). What makes it worse is that the CD isn't phenomenal. When it does finally get here, I will digest the liner notes and lyrics and art, then spin the CD once or twice and on my shelf it will go. I should have cancelled my order probably.

It has been an overall disappointment with SoM getting product out. If they were a dealer they would have been shot already. When I finally got a hold of someone they said they did not even have the boxes yet and were aware of the problems with them. Hell it took weeks after the release date before getting the Nevermore EP.

I know I am crying a fucking river over it so let me blowup the dyke.

It's just fucked! How can you have the anticipation of 8 years wait for an album, then have the intensity of controversy it has generated, open hostility of fans toward one another whom feel simultaneously betrayed and just in frigging shock over this thing, then screw up being able to get the product out in a timely and preserved package?!?!?!?!

And to top shit - there aren't any fucking notes for shit in the regular booklet. WTF!

Fucking disappointment all around - and I even like the fucker.

There are no actual songwriting credits.

It says: All songs written and produced by MORBID ANGEL. Followed by the publishing. From this you can figure it out but it is not literary stated.

BTW recieved the replacement Illud box today. Same condition as the first one....
