croatia. but i live not even 40km from Trieste so i went shopping there quite often and watched a lot of italian tv (mainly 'cause the signal for italian tv was always much stronger than the croatian :redneck: ). also, in our region we speak in dialect that's quite similar to italian (istro-veneto), so i think i'm quite well versed in the language of your peninsula :grin:
